In early 2000, a chance meeting with an old friend led to my first job on a golf course. Before the end of my first day, I knew I had found my new career. I was hooked.
Since those early days at Taconic Golf Club, I have managed a steady ascent in the turf management industry, working at some top rated courses, both public and private, including several Top 100 clubs.
Years of experience, and a somewhat unconventional path, learning from some great people and great minds, doing what I love, has led me to my current position as Superintendent of Norfolk Golf Club.
In February of 2008, after 2 great years as the Assistant Superintendent, I left Norfolk to assist in revitalizing and rebuilding the historic and once proud Blue Hill Country Club in Canton. I’m very excited to have the opportunity to return to Norfolk and produce consistently great conditions.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my wife Kerry and kids Will and Lena. And when I get the chance, I like golfing, homebrewing, working around the house, sports and enjoying friends.

Jon –
I just read your “What’s that on 7?” blog. Fascinating stuff and really valuable for the members to know that a) those threats to the health and playability of the course exist and more importantly b) you’re on top of it – annihilating them at the optimum time. I have a new respect for the science of turf management. Keep it up and the next beer’s on me!
